WHAT IS KNX TOOLBOX?

KNX TOOLBOX is an embedded webserver designed for KNX professionals. Thanks to the pre-installed ETS® Inside runtime, it can be used in combination with the ETS® Inside on your tablet or mobile device, to create a KNX smart home project in a very simple way, without need of PC or additional tools!

Look for your installed devices in the online catalogue, or directly scan the QR code attached on them.

Follow the step-by-step wizard to create lighting, shading, climate control and much more functionalities, by choosing how devices must work
and interact the each other.

When done, download the configuration into the devices, and test how they work with the support of the integrated bus monitor, a very helpful tool to immediately detect any eventual programming mistake or undesired operating condition.



ADD VALUE TO SMART HOMES



Expert KNX professionals can take advantage from the mutual sync between ETS® In-side and ETS® Professional on PC. The project can be setup on desktop, finalized on site with the smartphone or tablet, and backed up again on PC.



KNX TOOLBOX can be finally left in the installation, in order to empower the smart home with additional features, for both you and the end user.

Subsequent upgrades or modification to the project, for example, can be easily performed, being sure to start from the latest version preserved inside KNX TOOLBOX.

Advanced end customers can be even do-by-themselves limited modifications to parameters in order to adjust the functionality of their KNX installation, without need of your intervention.



If you are an ETS Professional user, you can finally use KNX TOOLBOX ad a remote interface for diagnostics and programming, by connecting your PC to the integrated VPN(*).

(*) ETS remoting requires specific IP ports to be opened on the internet router; please refer to the user guide for more details.

INSTALLATION

Plug your ETS® Inside license dongle into the USB port of KNX Toolbox (*)

Connect KNX Toolbox to the home LAN+WIFI router with a standard RJ45 ethernet cable

Connect a KNX USB interface to KNX Toolbox OR a KNX IP router to the same LAN (**)

Plug the 12-24 VDC power supply to switch ON the device

The following schemas show how to connect KNX TOOLBOX to the KNX installation, by means of an external KNX USB or IP router:

The following schema show how will be soon possible to connect KNX TOOLBOX directly the KNX installation, with its integrated port (not currently supported by ETS Inside):

(*) A secondary USB port suitable for hosting the USB license dongle is available internally, by simply opening the front panel. Necessary in case of connection to KNX through a KNX USB interface.

(**) An external KNX interface is necessary at the moment, due to a limitation in current version of ETS® Inside. We are at work to unlock the support for integrated TP port with a software update; stay tuned for news!

SETUP

Open a standard web browser and point to the predefined IP address (please re-fer to the quick start guide for more details)

Adjust the network configuration as needed by your LAN then open the ETS® Inside App and connect to the KNX TOOLBOX IP address

Give your project a name and password, and select the connection to the bus (USB or external IP router)

Enjoy ETS® Inside and create your KNX smart home project at a glance!
